Anecdote of the Day

Too funny...

One of my spys at Lemon Tree Cafe mentioned this scenario: A man orders coffee with his wife. He see's my card. Makes sure his wife isn't looking and sneakily puts it in his wallet.

I'm guessing I'll get quite a few bonus hits to this site when his wife finds it.

What do you think? Are they a little misleading *tee-hee-hee*

Let's go Bonkers for Boleros

Introducing...

Ripe Maternity's Silver Sequin Bolero, featured in MILF's Bolero blog and available to purchase here
Milf is proud to announce the arrival of Ripe Maternity's silver sequin bolero.

Many women feel insecure exposing their shoulders during pregnancy. After all, your upper body is busy creating new fat stores to help feed your baby. The bolero helps disguise this problem area.

This quirky little number is versatile enough to suit almost any wardrobe. It adds style, layering, texture and bling. You needn't be afraid of spaghetti straps any longer, when there are so many amazing dress styles out there, calling your name!

Ripe Maternity's Alexis dress featured in MILF's Bolero blog and available to purchase online.
On that note...

Ripe Maternity's Silver Sequin Bolero looks great with any number of Ripe Maternity dresses and Soon denim that are up for grabs. Such as the Alexis Dress, pictured here and available in black from the Ripe Maternity page on this website.

Soon Maternity

Coming 'Soon'...

MILF is really looking forward to initiating Soon Maternity into our product range. Get your denims here!

Gothic Beauty

Gothic Beauty...

When you think of pregnancy, I'm sure the furthest thing from your mind is floating across the room, feeling light as air...

Angelina Jolie managed to pull that off during 'heavy' UN conferences, whilst carrying twins, wearing dresses not unlike MILF's Ripe Maternity Satin Maxi Dress in black [pictured].
This dress is truely red carpet material.

I couldn't stop holding it up in the mirror, waltzing to some boroque melody in my subconscious.
If you want to make an impression with a garment fit for a queen, this is it! The minute my hubby gave me the thumbs up (a very rare experience) it became an instant fav xx

To Covet or Condemn?

I'm impressed...

Have you seen those crazy baboon, ape and gorilla dresses from Christopher Kane's Spring 2009 runway collection? They are not unike our David Bowie avaliable on the Rockstar Moms link. These are loud and brazen- almost the antithesis of anti-fashion. MILF appreciates those who push boundaries, particularly with wet-look, rouched leggings or skinny jeans. What do you think??

It's official

Thank you Lemon Tree Cafe

Jas Mulkeen at the Lemon Tree Cafe in Fryers Street, Shepparton- kudos to you! Not only do you serve the meanest Spanish Omlette in town, but you've also been kind enough to loan MILF a venue by which to flog our 3630 tees.

With the advent of this years SheppARTon Festival, our tees couldn't be more well-timed. With any luck we'll pop up in random places around town, otherwise, head on down to Lemon Tree Cafe to check them out.

They will also be available here, at www.milfclothing.com.au, so stay tuned.

What Size Should I Buy?

ok, so you need a new wardrobe...

You've looked in the mirror and noticed cleavage for the very first time. You've taken out your 'never fail' little black dress and can't get it over your head. You're considering investing in one of those carnival mirrors so you can recognise yourself again. Don't live in denial. It's time to get real and make the best of your new bod.

So how do you go about styling an hourglass when you used to be a pear? Luckily the rules of fashion are pretty basic so long as you keep to your body shape. As a rule of thumb, quality maternity wear should keep to the sizing you were before your pregnancy. Quality maternity wear grows with you and keeps you looking great for those crucial few months post-partum before you regain your figure.

As for your new shape- try to draw attention down with v-necks, long skinny scarves and a bit of bling to accentuate your decolletage rather than your milk ducts. Don't cut yourself off at the waist or the ankles. Keep clothes that fall to your wrist and never be afraid of boot heels (unless you are prone to stumbles).

Whatever you do, DON'T buy oversized clothing to fit your baby bump. I'm sure you can imagine the result. You are basically minimising your perfect bump and expanding the rest of you to match. This would even make Heidi Klum look like a tent!

For personalised styling tips go to the Contact Me section on our menu make a personal appointment, or email me some photos for styling tips free of charge. Please include details of your personal style and whether your maternity collection will be primarily casual, corporate, evening etc.

Retro Mum

I'm feeling nostalgic...

Trawling through hundreds of maternity items is not only fun, but has made me ponder the ideal image of motherhood.

Back in the early days of last century this was resolute. Each mum had a photo finish image to uphold.

These mums understood they must aquire full skirted dresses with which to cook, clean, be witty, attentive and feed the family pet.

These dresses were preferably hand made by ones-self, and of a cheery print to greet the tired husband at the door, martini in hand, after his working day.

Of course I completely embrace the myriad of contemporary fashion styles available today, however there is part of me whimsical for those days when it was all so 'simple'. So I found a dress from Ripe Maternity that Betty Page herself would be proud to wear. Hope you like it.

Shhh, it's a secret!

So you've gotten the news...

How did you first break the news of your pregnancy and who did you tell?

Perfection

They say...

Imperfection is perfect? 'Celebrity style' in this case cannot be replicated. Who needs clothes when you look this good pregnant? Flawless...
